OVERVIEW OF URBAN THRRESHOLD 2009 A&R POWER SUMMIT

Urban Threshold's Annual A&R Power Summit took place on May 2nd & May 3rd, 2009 at The Helen Mills Theater in NYC. Independent artists, producers, songwriters and managers came from all over the world to attend this illustrious event..

The A&R Power Summit is one of the most vital music conferences in America. It is the only conference that focuses on the role of the A&R.

For the past 4 years, some of the music industry's most influential decision makers have gathered at The A&R Power Summit to share their music business expertise with the summit's attendees.

The Summit has boasted a who's who of music industry executives. "The mission of The A&R Power Summit series is to bridge the gap between the unsigned artist and the music industry. Our main endeavor is to give talented artists and producers, who have few connections or resources, the opportunity to get their music heard and the chance to receive valuable information regarding the music business," stated Jesse Atkinson, CEO of Urban Threshold Inc. and founder of the A&R Power Summit.

The moderators included Steve "Raze" Senior VP of Multimedia & Digital Content of All HipHop.com, Maya The B, host of the Roundtable with Lenny S, and Rocky Thunder, host of Next Up Radio. The panels were moderated with vibrant energy and crowd- pleasing charisma.

The 2009 A&R Power Summit combined the elements of a music conference, an informational seminar, and an entertainment showcase into one lively event. It also provided an invaluable talent search resource to the music industry professionals present. A&R representatives from the top labels came together to discuss the best avenues for artists to take to get the record deal that will further their career. "It is imperative that artists and producers know and understand the multiple revenue streams in the game. You must think outside of the box and stay ahead of the new technology," advised Conrad Dimanche, President of PMP World Wide.

The summit's comprehensive program schedule of panels, workshops, and demo listening sessions addressed the important issues affecting the music industry today. The 2009 A&R Power Summit offered lively and incisive moderators, diverse participants, meaty discussions and spirited debates.
